This Is Folks. OU is going to Fiesta Bowl 2007

The final BCS is here: http://sports.espn.go.com...

So close! Had we move up by two ranks, we would have been put up to play against Ohio State in New Orleans.

Anyway, the final weekend just shows how crazy this season has been. Upsets, drama, controversy, uproar and everything else are mixed into a 5 month of a reality show so-called college football. This madness is what makes college football so great. Every team must play an A game every weekend to prove that they deserve to play in national championship. That's why college football is 100x more exciting than NFL despite some flaws in BCS system. The whole season itself is literally a 5 month playoff.

So did we deserve #4? Truth to be told, I was surprised that we moved up that high in the first place. Knowing the "mindset" (*cough* biased *coughed*) of pollsters I thought we will be be placed to #5 or #6. But Oklahoma dismantling previously-number-1 Missouri team by three touchdown margin on a national television gave a strong impact to these voters. Just like what some people say: "It's not what you say, but how you say it". Style points helped. But I'd rather have Oklahoma be #2 for a shot of National Championship.

Nevertheless, OU is going to play against West Virginia, a team that is loaded with offensive talents in all positions. I like this matchup, to be honest. This is going to be a much more interesting game than a game of Sooners versus Kansas Jayhawks.

Ohio State getting automatic #1 without a championship game? Bullcrap. And their schedule is a joke.

It should be LSU vs Oklahoma.

Big10 is a weak conference. They'll feel the pain from last year blowout once again!

Playoff is the way to go. Too many teams with good winning records and legitimate reasons to win in all.

We can pick the best 8 then have them slug it all out on December into the final game on January..

You do realize if we have playoff there won't be so much weight on regular games? If you can afford losing a game or two then still win the championship, we won't even have any of these BCS talk every week . It'll kill the excitement

Why not? Screw BCS. OU is a legitimate contender and got dissed by the system.

Barney's picture

Every team thinks they are legitimate (roll eyes)

I don't mind OU going to Fiesta bowl. Especially against WVU.

Auburn got hosed in 2003 despite perfect record.

Hawaii is undefeated this year.

Missouri is out of BCS bid despite beating Kansas 2 weeks ago.

BCS is a mess. Bring on the playoff!

It's hard to argue why we should be #2. We blew that opportunity a few weeks ago.

Not to mention that teams will fight for that #8 spot at the end of the season which BCS determines, anyway.

BTW, do you guys notice that Illinois will play USC on Rosebowl. WTF?

It's a freakin 3-loss team!

Grimlock's picture

That's because Rosebowl wanted to keep Big 10 vs Pac10 tradition.

Crapberry: As much as I'm happy that MU lost, they do deserve better.

If this were playoff, Hawaii would be the #1 undefeated champion.

Yeah, but the only "powerful" team Hawaii played was Washington. Not good enough to hang out with the big boys.

I do like their run and gun offensive style, though. It reminds me of Mike Leach when he was still the Sooner's offensive coordinator in Heupel era.
