OU - Texas Weekend

I gotta say the game could have gone either way from the way they played it in all four quarters. As expected, Bradford played like a vet. But damn, the Sooners' defense was weak. Yes, I'm talking about OU's pass defense. On the first half, Texas' QB McCoy seemed to be comfortable in the pocket finding open receivers. OU's DB and LB were out of position most of the time and there were so many gaps in their zone coverage. Fortunately, Venables made a few adjustments and called some blitzes to put some pressure on McCoy, and it paid off.

Mizzou is coming this week ranked #11 and there is a chance for another upset if OU let it slip like Colorado. From the way they played against Nebraska last Saturday, I think they are a much more of a threat than Texas. They got a mobile QB and a balanced passing and running game. Nevertheless, I got a lot of faith at OU. It's just that if there is anything the past 2 weeks have shown us, it is that anything can happen. Hell, USC fell on its own home turf against lowly Stanford, who would have thunk it?

Most likely ESPN Gameday will be held in Norman because OU is ranked #5 while Mizzou is #11. Media loves this kind of match up and there is no other game next weekend that can match the hype of this game. IMO, unlike Texas, Mizzou's running and passing game are rock-solid. Plus, they got a mobile QB. They can smoke OU if Sooners let it slip up again.

BOOMER SOONER!

That's because our LBs can't cover. They are consistently out of position on pass defense.
