It's an unusual scene to see Saturday-night like atmosphere happening in Campus Corner on regular Wednesday night, but it did. The kids were out somewhere else trick-or-treating with their gums full of candies that will rot their teeth to the core, while the 21+ year olds did not want to lose the race by intoxicating themselves to the max on public venues. Nevertheless, Halloween was out and about in grand fashion and everybody had a great time.
So I went to Seven47 last night with the expectation that there will be little to no crowd since most of the Halloween flare was exhausted last weekend in Oklahoma City (yeah, I was standing in line along with tens of people for 1+ hour with no hope that I'd ever get into either CityWalk or Skyybar at all that night).
But I was wrong.
Both Seven47 and Logans were packed with people dressing up in anything-you-can-imagine costumes. There were the typical overused devils and angels, while some others mix-and-matched costumes into convoluted characters with no identity. Some, however, adopted the new pop-culture icons like D**k in the box characters which was refreshing scene to see.
But what was great about last night was that it was not a SAUSAGE fest. It's rare to see Seven47 and Logan filled with equal ratio of men-to-women these days, and that's something I'm looking forward to see more in the future.
This week is shaping up to be great for Norman and Campus Corners. Next up: Sooners home game against Texas A&M. I'll return and hit up the scene again.
