This is Frustrating

Oklahoma goes down by 1 rank in the latest BCS standings to #6. I can't believe that two bye-week teams (Oregon and Arizona State) get a lift on their rank for being absent last Saturday. Unfortunately, Oklahoma didn't help either by not playing their A-game against not-so-great Iowa, but it just proves that every year the BCS computers love being weird. Rewarding no-shows while punishing hardworkers on the field just don't make any sense to me.

Even if OU wins out the rest of the season, there are other one-loss teams that can move up pass Sooners: West Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Florida, and even USC. If any of those teams win out, Oklahoma will likely be pushed out of the ranking and end up watching MNC on TV instead of playing it. All that thanks to our weak schedule plus the loss against Colorado a few weeks ago. I hope Joe Castiglione will take note of this and start scheduling Sooners against much stronger out-of-conference opponents. Having teams like USC, LSU, or even Florida playing Oklahoma at home in Norman would be nice :)

So for Oklahoma to get back to national championship, not only they need to win the remainder of their games (three of them are home games in Norman) but they also need the following scenarios to happen:
1) These teams to lose: LSU, Ohio State, Boston College, Arizona States, Boston College, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, South Florida, and USC
2) Kansas winning the rest of the season then be beaten by OU on Big 12 Championship
3) Missouri to win the rest of the season to give strength to OU's schedule

Good luck, Sooners.

I doubt we're gonna make it to MNC. VT and WVU are on the roll right now. And technically, they are only beaten by LSU and USF so their defeats won't be penalized so much compared to OU losing to unranked Colorado.

It sucks because I think OU should have won in Colorado. None of this mess would have happen to us if we didn't give away that game.

I won't worry so much about it until our last game. There's still so much football to be played and with this season of upset, any top 10 team can fall any given week. Just hope we're not in that mix.

USC is #12? Media lovefest gotta stop, man. That's just waaaay over the top.

If USC crawls back to top 5, I lose faith to college football.

It also helps if OU wins out with 60+ points per game. That'll jack up the style points.

USC will always be media darling, since they have no pro football team in LA. Just get over it until we become as dominant as 2003 team. Remember how much they loved us back then?

I doubt the scenario #1 will happen, but then again, this season is wacky.

Scenario #2 and 3 are doable. Those teams are highly ranked. If they win out the rest of the season, and whichever we beat at Big XII championship, our rank will be back to top 2-3.

We got a bye-week this weekend. What to do?
