Dark Knight
Posted July 20th, 2008 by Urusai
I just watched The Dark Knight at Warren Theatre this afternoon. I don't have much to say than to repeat what other reviews have been saying all weekend: This movie is AWESOME. A++++. It belongs to the list of best movies of ALL TIME, joining up the big boys such as Godfather, Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption and other classics that are timeless. And considering that this is a comic movie, it says a lot.
I know that Ledger's death magnified people's interest to this movie by multiple fold. If he were still alive today, I'm sure the movie would have not been as successful as it is now. It certainly will be a solid blockbuster, but it won't be as close as of today. I felt that Warner Bros capitalizes his death to hype the movie whether it is intentional or not.
Happy 4th of July

Sonics moving to OKC: is the excitement only the feeling of novelty or long-lasting support for the team? Sooners basketball team has been poorly supported with the exception to its journey to Final Four a few years back. Although professional basketball is on different level altogether, I couldn't help but think that it's a perfect barometer to see how well local fans will support NBA in a long run. When the novelty wears off, I think the fans will show their true colors. Football is the ultimate sport here and it's here to stay.
I give Sonics 5 years, max before they find another place to move.
Medieval Fair on April 4th - 7th
Posted March 28th, 2008 by EzmanJust a quick reminder to everyone that Medieval Fair will be held on April 4th - 7th (Friday - Saturday).
IME, it's going to be about the same festivities as previous years: throwing axes, shurikens, riding elephants, knight-battle simulations etc. I visit it almost every year, and I swear I can visually remember where they are located. Their attractions literally never move around.
But if you haven't been to one, I highly recommend you to check it out. It's one of Norman's annual highlights. It's a great way to welcome spring season.
I'll try to take some photos during that time and post them here.
The Play
Posted February 29th, 2008 by UrusaiHey guys, it's been forever since the last time I blogged here.
Well, not really, it's only been over like, a month?
Okay, maybe it has been forever.
Anyway, although our 2007 football season is over, there is some leftover residue that's been haunting us for a while now: Boise State's "The Play" on Fiesta Bowl 2007.
Yes, it's that statue of Liberty the capped our lose
Yes, that thing has been replayed over and over since ESPN decided to run a show called the Greatest Highlight since last month.
Now I want it be over with. ASAP.

Cold Night
Posted January 18th, 2008 by EzmanI went out last night to Logans to get some drinks and to chill. It was relatively subdued. Not so many people as I expected, the atmosphere is relatively calm compared to weekend. Yeah, thanks to freezing, cold, windy weather.
What I noticed, though, is the new Sooner Textbook store located right next to Seven47. Why would they build a student bookstore that's literally side by side with a bar full of alcohol? Actually, I don't really want to know :) , but looking at those 2 places is like watching good-vs-evil force battling it out. Or them shaking hand and living in truce. It's convenient, really. You buy your books then go right next door for some buzz before going home :)
